Sadly, after 12 years of working for Fortune 500 companies, this will be my 1st convention. Oh, and I'm paying for it. Show no fear, go to every party, and be sure to break into the "Happiest Company on the Block" or whatever party, because that's where you want to work. I've gotten job offers every time I've attended one of these things, just by meeting tons of people and enjoying myself. HR people are pretty human in that they want to work with people they "know" and enjoy. You would do really well there, so go!
