I would like to atone for being in Human Resources, laying you off, and disrupting your income; however, I’m an atheist and I don’t do synagogues, churches, or blanket days of confession and attrition.

I think its cool for everyone to atone today no matter what. I am Jewish, but my father is a Catholic and I do Christmas… It’s all good.

I worked for one company where I laid off half the staff over two years…then finally got laid off myself. I guess that is atonement.
