lots of folk love @dooce. http://dooce.com. me, haven’t found a — thank you for not saying mommy blogger — woman who blogs on motherhood/work/life yet that i like. let me know what you find!

I’ve interviewed dozens of working moms on the topic of work/life and have often been moved to tears by their stories. As moms, we wrestle with guilt and strive to everyday to do it all. My own son told me he felt invisible when I launched my site. Stab a knife through my heart! I admit this because I know that I am not alone in this journey, in fact, I have made it my mission to empower as many moms as possible. Chris Rock’s wife, Malaak, told me to push through the guilt and to know that she believes that she was put on this earth to be more than a mother and a wife. I too feel the same. (And, my son, he’s now proud of what I’ve created and knows he will never feel invisible again).
I’ve brought the experts to the community in which I’ve created.. Traci E. Alexander to speak about work/life, Julie Cohen for career coaching, Dr. Robi for Therapy.. finally, all in one place as a resource for moms!
These are my mom punks, and I’m a punk myself.

Wednesday Martin is the unsung hero for all of us stepmom’s who work and try to gain respect and harmony. Her blog site is http://www.wednesdaymartin.com/blog/2009/05/for-stepmonster-from-stepmoms-toolbox/. She tells it like it is – the good, bad and ugly and how stepmom’s never get the praise they deserve.
So, I think my blog leaves a lot to be desired, mostly because I haven’t done much with it (between looking for a job, traveling, working part time and being a full time Mama to 2 in diapers, it unfortunately falls lower on my priority list than I’d like it to), but I’d be honored to be considered for the Mom Punk blogroll.
@Fran I’m working on the list. I didn’t use the word mommyblogger because I am looking for women who are writing about more than just being a mommy — although I’m okay with mommyblogs. I blog about my cat, so I’m really not one to judge.
@Bradi you’re on there!
@Kate Oh thanks!
@Allison done!
I’m pretty consistently entertained by Penelope Trunks’ Brazen Careerist (http://www.blog.penelopetrunk.com). She’s a good story-teller (imho) and takes positions that I rarely see anywhere else. It occasionally gets a bit blue, but hey, what’s wrong with that?
I used to have Penelope on my blogroll somewhere. Now I can’t find her, so it’s a good reminder to add her!
KalamazooMomofTwo on Blogspot.
She’s a marketing consultant, great writer and even better mom.
Check her out.
http://www.wikipedia.com and google.com. I don’t read about other moms. My reading/surfing related to being a mom is all with son to find the answers he is curious about. This week, the difference between a Myan pyramid and an Egyptian pyramid. So, I highly recommend wikipedia be on the list
My favorite Mom Punk blog is:
http://cursinginheels.blogspot.com/
She’s a writer and currently a stay-at-home mom (meaning, she said, “Ha! I’m staying home with my son!” before they could actually lay her off). She’s very funny.
Oh, and she’s my sister, but I’m not biased or anything. Even people who aren’t her sister think she’s funny. (Actually, they probably think she’s funnier than I do since she never “borrowed” their clothes and never returned them.)
I love Motherhood Uncensored, Mom-101, Design Mom, Cool Mom, Mighty Girl, Marketing Mom, and Jessica Knows. Most of them have online businesses though…
@Rick Awesome, thanks.
@Lois Thank you.
@HAria I’m glad you’re biased. Good find.
@Rebecca Whoa, that’s a lot of Moms. I’ll go take a look!
I second Jessica Knows- she’s been a stay at home mom while building her online business, but today is her first official day of VP of Digital Strategy for Fleishman Hilliard- so yeah, she’ll be balancing.:) She’s also one of my best IRL friends, and moving from east to west coast- at least she has a blog, right?:)
Cool mom and marketing mom are faves as well, and I love Type A Mom’s network. And, you know, my site.:) Although mine’s more about balancing need for own identity then work, so maybe not apropos for this roll. I LOVE your design- I’ll be back.:)
@R&R Mama Your site is awesome! UR on the list!! (thx for the recommendations, too!)
I absolutely love Jen Lancaster, author of Bitter is the New Black and several others best-selling novels about her love/hate relationships with work and play (and shopping) in the city. She blogs regularly at http://www.jennsylvania.com, but her tweets are hystarical as well, @altgeldshrugged.
Hi Laurie – how about my “Punk Dad” husband who writes about being a stay-at-home Dad? Not exactly what you asked for, but he’s pretty funny

These days stay at home moms don’t just stay at home. they freelance or try ways of earning money, they even blog and make money.
