The city of Los Angeles is trying to get rid of Taco Trucks: Those awesome little trucks on every corner smelling dreamily of blackened meat ’till the wee hours of the morning. Apparently the “stationary restaurants” have a difficult time competing and feel that the competition is “unfair.”
Leave it to a city like Los Angeles — awash in ethically challenged politicians and corruption — to stifle entrepreneurship and innovation under the guise of “unfair competition.”
Whatevs, Los Angeles. We know what this is about — and we don’t like it. If these trucks served shots of wheatgrass or protein smoothies, we know you would provide tax incentives and green space to the vendors. But carne asada and flautas? No thanks, you tell the immigrant taco truck owners, we don’t like your product or your business model.
