They're tough to view for a lot of people at work (either because video is blocked, the sound, or because watching a video makes others think you're not being productive), they put demands on less powerful machines and slower web connections, they don't always work on mobile devices, and search engines won't find the content like they will text. Plus, I can read something faster than I can listen to it. :) They are nice once in a while for really visual things, though. I think they have their place, but it's limited.
