Do You Believe In Ghosts?

by Laurie on October 26, 2007

There’s a poll out that says one-third of Americans believe in ghosts.

This is probably the same group of Americans who believe that 9/11 was an inside job. It’s probably the same one-third of Americans who believe that torture is acceptable. Or one-third of Americans who think that Saddam Hussein orchestrated 9/11.

Penelope Trunk lists the important things we ought to be teaching our kids if we want them to succeed in the workforce. The top of my list? Common sense.

  • Don’t publicly express your belief in ghosts. It makes you look like a moron.
  • Don’t let the government off so easily by thinking 9/11 was an inside job. A conspiracy is too neat and easy.
  • Don’t believe anything that Dick Cheney tells you. Ever.

Does that mean Dick was lying in his e-Mail promising me Halliburton stock options if I forwarded his hunting poem to 58,000 close friends ?

I used to laugh at Dan Quayle jokes. Now I feel kind of guilty about that.

Molly – That email will give your computer a virus and blow up your screen. Be careful!

Cols – You do? Ken just told me about a sci-fi story where cats see dead people. I gotta find it because it sounds like good Halloween material.

La Mama – You’re southern so you probably have many, many stories. Bring out the moonshine & tell ‘em!
