The team at Fistful of Talent likes me — but not enough to rank PRHR on the list of the Top 25 most powerful blogs in the world.
I received an honorable mention, but hey, it’s an honor for this punk rock HR slacker just to be nominated. I didn’t do anything except show up and write; I’m not competitive; and I’ll take an honorable mention — over hard work & intestinal fortitude — any day of the week.
It just so happens that Maren Hogan, one of the judges, will be attending Recruitfest in Toronto. Hmmmm… I’ll be at Recruitfest, too. What a coincidence. I can neither confirm nor deny that I’m interested in paying off the FOT judges, but I will say that Taleo Blog, which happens to be #25 on the most powerful list, better watch its back!

I didn’t even get an honorable mention. Something to shoot for, I suppose.
I wouldn’t sweat it. I think it’s cool that you’re listed as #1 on the Alltop HR page. That’s a pretty powerful ranking in our industry if you ask me, or Guy Kawasaki, or Neenz.
I do like the modification of the graphic for putzes that can’t make it into top 25 territory.
@Lance I knew you’d like it. I wanted to show some love for the process while accurately representing my position in the pack. I like it because it looks like I’m a top talent management blog — ranking be damned! I’m going to ask Kris to make me a SORRY, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME or WE LIKE YOU OKAY — NOT GREAT version of the badge.
My preference would be: “After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for this ranking.”
Are you more excited about getting an honorable mention here or being a nominee at http://hotbloggercalendar.com?
my comment dissappeared! Are you more proud of the honorable mention or the fact that you were nominated for the Hot Bloggers Calendar?
Hey it’s Friday! Time for a wee drink – HR baaaaa
@Wenchie
You complain that you didn’t even get an honorable mention? Me, they probably don’t even know that I exist
@Happy @Wenchie @Laurie. I love all three of you. We at TalentedApps considered our mention a “Major Award” (http://talentedapps.wordpress.com/2008/08/20/a-major-award/) going in a different direction with the graphic.
For the record we would never endorse you bumping Taleo off the list Laurie but if there is a fund to support your cause we might want to know about it.
Great work all!
