Graduation Season & Future New Hires!

by Laurie on April 29, 2008

Just when I think that there’s no hope for the kids these days — especially the kids from Canada — Brandon Rosario comes along and makes me do a double-take.

Would you hire him?

Brandon offends every person on the planet — including Colombians, which must be some kind of Canadian put-down — and he still earns a standing ovation. Even the kid who pees like a girl seems to like him. That’s charisma, right?

That is the funniest video. I had to watch it twice…and glad I wasn’t drinking milk. That kid said what every valedictorian wants to say..but can’t.

Great find. Thanks!

If this kid were American, his parents would medicate the bejeebus out of him. Hooray for Canada!

Holy shit, my high school wasn’t half that cool.

Just so you know, calling a someone a columbian isn’t a canadian put down. The columbian he was talking about was running for valedictorian aswell and he was joking about him.

@Wenchie Our graduation ceremony was so lame. It makes me so sad that I graduated before the age of You Tube (and the freakin’ internet, come to think of it).

@Jordan That makes much more sense to me — but I still like the idea that the Canadians secretly mock the Colombians and we Americans just don’t get it. ;)

because this was a speech for the class of 08, there was a few inside jokes the media/other people won’t understand. the “Colombian” he referenced is a school celebrity he is a magician thats where the “magic” part came from.

and because the media did not understand they took it as a racial slur.

This video is funny! As i watched the video I kept thinking about how most organizations would not hire him – even though deep done inside the young man making the speech is fire.
Then I thought how sad after 4 – 6 years of college he will be hired by some company have all his love and fire extinguished by poor training and overbearing bosses. He will be hired for his “creativity and influence” then be told that what he wishes to do cannot get done and that he was not hired to “reinvent the wheel”.
Many young people like him are hired everyday into companies and quickly become faceless robots – slowly grinded down by the man!

so many of us spend our lives trying to unlearn the stupid rules we were forced to adhere to as kids.

this kid’s got a bold and original mind, and a presence.

someone like him would work best at a small company where the repressive forces of bureaucracy and politics wouldn’t dampen his unique spirit.

Laurie April 30, 2008 at 7:08 pm

Cols, I think he should be our director of repressive bureaucracy when we start our media company, ColsandLaursversustheWorld (dot com).
