POISED FOR GROWTH, HRM TODAY READIES FOR EBAY AUCTION
Innovative social networking site HRM Today will soon be auctioned off through eBay, keeping with the online community’s vision of elevating the human resources profession through the use of Web 2.0 technology. The auction is scheduled to begin on August 5, 2009.
The wide-ranging network of collaborative, multi-author blogs, events, forums, and groups has nearly 1,200 members, along with a healthy presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, which boasts over 1,700 followers.
“We’re amazed at the organic growth of HRM Today since we started it last year,” said co-owner, Laurie Ruettimann, who with her partner, Lance Haun, believes the auction will appeal to human resources professionals, associations, or vendors who have stronger IT infrastructures.
“The site is poised for the next level,” she said. “Fresh ideas and framework will no doubt expand the community and translate into additional growth and revenue.”
The eBay auction will last ten days and include http://hrmtoday.com, http://blogs.hrmtoday.com, and http://network.hrmtoday.com, along with archived user data. There will be no reserve.

Lance has a new job, I’m working on a book, and neither one of us can provide the daily attention and IT infrastructure needed to take this site to the next level. We want to see HRM Today grow & grow, and in order to do this, we want to make sure that the network has a chance to be owned by people who have a passion for community + understand technology.

What happened to Jenn Barnes, The HR Wench. Come to think of it I haven’t seen her around for a long time. I certainly hope that she is well and doing fine.
