Miley Cyrus Needs Diversity Training

by Laurie on February 6, 2009

I’m not sure what’s worse? You tell me.

  • Miley Cyrus is the owner of a bazillion-dollar media empire.
  • Miley Cyrus is held up by her parents as a regular girl — but they don’t kick her butt for being a racist idiot.

Obviously, we don’t have the proper context for the Ching Chong Chinaman picture. Here’s the context.

Who wants to give Ms. Cyrus a Human Resources training session on ethics, sensitivity, and common sense in the businessworld?

I’m intrigued by her comment: “In no way was I making fun of any ethnicity…” Really? Really? I suppose you were honoring them in a fashion that only the spoiled rich scions of 2 bit mullet headed one hit wonders would understand (I said that not to mock Billy Ray, but to honor him Miley, see I’m starting to understand).

Having reviewed the picture several times, the only plausible defense I could imagine, would have been to point out that they were not trying to mock out an entire ethnicity, but instead only attempting to mock Joan Rivers.

Either way, Miley, how do you not know better?

Here’s what I do:

I don’t get angry at her. I’ll send her to China, since she has money, to setup an event and do these goofy faces. I monitor the situation.

Miley comes to the stage to perform but realize everyone pull out their knives and swords. Miley doesn’t have a clue. When the crowd rushes with pointed objects, Miley will run to me and asks why they’re chasing me with swords and knives.

I tell her what she did and it’s called “cultural sensitivity.” Also, I tell her they don’t want to kill you. They want something else.

She’ll get the picture.

Come on – which one’s Miley? Is it the second from the left? It is, isn’t it?
