Monday Morning HR Humor: Immigration

by Laurie on July 14, 2008

This is a little late for Independence Day, and I could have done a better job syncing this with Sue Meisinger’s testimony on Capital Hill regarding employer verification, but I wanted to inject a little Craig Ferguson into the discussion of immigration.

God bless America. I love how he scored 100% on his citizenship test. Could you pass that test? Could your kids pass that test?

I would open up our borders for more men like Craig Ferguson.

  • Any day.
  • Wide open.
  • No green card required.

I love when something is funny as well as informative. There is a good spirit to it. While I could easily answer the questions, or most of them, anyway, I seriously doubt that most native born Americans could do the same. Not in this day and age. I remember reading a study where the majority of those interview didn’t know where Cleveland was. So what would we do if they fail the test? A new form of Devil’s Island, perhaps, where they are forced to learn civics? Better be a large island.

@Gordon I believe in compulsory beatings for people who can’t find Cleveland on a map. (Seriously.) I’d like to beat the parents, though.

I can’t resist a Scottish brogue.

Must require Craig Ferguson to be my boyfriend as part of his citizenship test.

recently watched the HBO mini-series John Adams and both my husband and I were really at a loss on some obvious stuff (who was the 3rd president? When was the constitution ratified? Etc.). In fairness I guessed correctly on some of them but wasn’t confident of the answers.
