If you work in Human Resources or live in Ohio, you need to know Steve Browne. He is the ultimate connector and social media guidance counselor — but he also works in the trenches of Human Resources. Steve is the Executive Director of HR for LaRosa’s. He has responsibilities for the strategic direction of over 1400 Human Resources employees. In his spare time, he is active in Ohio SHRM and runs a subscriber-based newsletter called HR Net.
He knits the HR community together beyond the state of Ohio.
And Steve is unbelievably generous and humble.
When I told Steve that I wanted to feature him as my final Sunday HR Shout-Out, he was over the moon. What a guy. If you want access to his awesome email newsletter, you have to email him. It’s almost quaint to send an email, right? You can also connect with him on LinkedIn.
Steve, thanks for all the great work you do. In the immortal words of Bon Jovi, you give HR a good name.

Is thay it? Your last blog as Punk Rock HR? No grand summing up of what you’ve learned? No saying what you always meant to say?
I guess that means you already have? Well, good luck at New Media Enterprises. We have a few surprises for you at the HR Technology Conference at the end of September, and not one of the them involves chocolate.
I’m gonna miss ya here. How about telling us where we can find you for a new daily fix, huh?
Dude, no.

Excellent choice for your last Sunday Shout Out. Steve also facilitates the monthly HR Roundtable which he started more than 10 years ago. 125+ attendees every month. It is a great networking opportunity (don’t let Steve see you passing out your business card) and has helped many HR pros and other folks land new jobs. Kudos to Steve. I am proud to know him.
I will miss Punk Rock HR but am looking forward to what Laurie does next. I am also proud to know her.
Penina, you are awesome. Thank you!!
Goodnight, and good luck!!
Well deserved shout out for someone who has been evangelizing the HR profession long before it was cool to do so and connecting people before social media came into play. Steve is the real deal and someone who deserves to be thanked and recognized in a very public way. The final Sunday Shout Out on PRHR is a great way to do that!
